Images of Summer Vacation

Patchwork blocks

My first set of organic cotton soft blocks -

I've got the hang of the construction now, but the fun part was mixing and matching such a wide range of fabrics and prints.
*
I made this set using a mixed variety of fabrics in mainly blues and greens, then tied them all together with the chili red flannel found on each block.

With the exception of the blue gingham, the rest of the fabrics are from the fab Harmony Art Collection.

All stuffed with lovely Newfoundland Heritage sheep wool. My heart sings!

My son who just turned 6 claimed these for his birthday. Turns out they're not just for baby!

Wonderful wool

I can't tell you how excited I am about this beautiful Newfoundland Heritage Sheep Wool I recently purchased. I bought it from a lady named Kay who lives on the great northern peninsula of Newfoundland. You can check out her new Etsy shop here.

This wool presents so many wonderful creative ways to incorporate a local and natural product into my work. Organic cotton and local wool - oh so inspiring!

Apparently wonderful for spinning and felting, I've found that this wool is also wonderful for stuffing soft toys - simply perfect for little ones.

Later this summer after some more experimenting (and getting settled in our new home) I should hopefully have some new work to share with you! Oh the fun!
